چکیده

Abstract Low cost and high durability have made Portland cement the most widely‐used building material, but benefits are offset by environmental harm of production contributing 8–10% total anthropogenic CO 2 gas emissions. High sulfur‐content materials (HSMs) an alternative that can perform binding roles as cements with a smaller carbon footprint, possibly superior chemical, physical, mechanical properties. Inverse vulcanization 90 wt% sulfur 10 canola oil or sunflower to yield CanS SunS, respectively. Notably, these HSMs prepared at temperatures ≤180 °C compared >1200 hours for was combined 5 fly ash (FA), silica fume (SF), ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS), metakaolin (MK) give composites CanS‐FA, CanS‐SF, CanS‐GGBFS, CanS‐MK, The analogous protocol SunS likewise yielded SunS‐FA, SunS‐SF, SunS‐GGBFS, SunS‐MK. Each exhibit compressive strength, low water uptake values, exceptional resistance acid‐induced corrosion. All also strength retention after exposure acidic solutions, conditions under which undergoes dissolution. polymer cement‐pozzolan reported herein may thus serve greener alternatives traditional in some applications.

Relationship between Compressive and Chemical Compositions of Portland and Pozzolanic Cements

Pozzolans have been used to improve the some properties of concrete and also to reduce the cost of producing cement. Many researchers investigated pozzolanic cements, which were mostly made with kind of artificial or natural pozzolans. While the most recent investigations on pozzolan containing cements study the effect of pozzolan type, replacement amount and fineness, this study was investigat...

Influence of radiopacifying agents on the solubility, pH and antimicrobial activity of portland cement.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the interference of the radiopacifiers bismuth oxide (BO), bismuth carbonate (BC), bismuth subnitrate (BS), and zirconiun oxide (ZO) on the solubility, alkalinity and antimicrobial properties of white Portland cement (WPC). The substances were incorporated to PC, at a ratio of 1:4 (v/v) and subjected to a solubility test. To evaluate the pH, the cements wer...
